We were drawn to Montessori in the Woods because of their emphasis on nourishing and supporting the whole child. We toured numerous Montessori schools and none felt right until we visited Montessori in the Woods. The calm, peaceful environment and the respectful way that Stania and Hana interact with the children made us feel like MITW is a place where our daughter could thrive, and thrive she has! The school places a heavy emphasis on healthy whole foods, messy outdoor play and joyful learning. Our daughter is excited to go to school everyday and she equally enjoys the learning she experiences playing in the mud as she does the learning that occurs in the classroom. Her social/emotional awareness and learning has also greatly benefitted from her time at  MITW.  We travel from Etobicoke because Montessori in the Woods is a special place where the guides work very hard to preserve the delight and innocence of childhood while seamlessly incorporating meaningful learning that draws the children in and makes them feel excitement and pride in their achievements.

Montessori in the Woods is a wonderful community and we feel very grateful and lucky that our daughter is able to spend these important, formative years at a school where she is challenged, respected and encouraged.

Our experience at Montessori in the Woods has been truly exceptional. When it came to looking for a school for our daughter, finding a place that educated her in a holistic and conscious way was of the utmost importance. It has been a joy to witness the ways in which children are truly honoured and supported here during the most malleable years of their lives. The teachers here are so aligned with the different needs and tendencies of each child, they nurture and guide the children in a way that allows each child to have trust and confidence in themself. The classes are spacious and calm- they are set up in such a way that each child has ample opportunities to explore and learn whichever subject and skill is of interest to them. My daughter has also had the chance to plant, care for and harvest vegetables from the school garden. She has helped prepare the food for snacks and lunch- learning about nutrition as a whole process.

I am grateful for MITW and the values they uphold and instill in their students and look forward to continuing our journey with them.

We were so lucky to have found such a great Montessori for our family, now with our third child set to start, we couldn’t be happier with the results and care poured into our children over the past 7 years. This is not your average Montessori, this school is truly special. The academic foundation this school has provided has been exceptional, but beyond that, the fostering of independence, emotional growth and stability, focus on nutrition, things that we truly care about have been front and centre.

Our children have attended Montessori in the Woods for the past five years, and our experience has been nothing but positive. We truly can’t think of a better place for them to learn life skills, strong Montessori academics, nature studies, and problem-solving, all while growing into confident individuals in a nurturing environment. This school approaches education the way it should be, thoughtfully, intentionally, and with heart. The owners, Stania and Hana, wear many hats as principals, teachers, and caregivers. Their hands-on involvement in every aspect of the school creates a deep sense of care and consistency, and they are always accessible and present for families. Our children feel completely at ease here, MITW truly feels like a second home. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a unique and values-driven community and couldn’t ask for a better place for our children to grow.

Montessori in the Woods is an exceptional educational institution with a truly holistic approach. Hana and Stania work tirelessly to guide students through the Montessori curriculum while also teaching them about plantbased nutrition, growing vegetables, and the importance of spending time outdoors. The school offers a nutritious lunch program, with all meals prepared fresh on-site each day, and the children even get to participate in cooking! My daughter graduated from the Casa program and is now in her second year of Lower Elementary. She absolutely loves coming to school! Hana and Stania are experienced, dedicated educators who are genuinely passionate about teaching and nurturing young minds. The parent community is equally wonderful and very supportive. Families often linger after school to enjoy the expansive green space and connect with one another.Montessori in the Woods is a truly special place, and we feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this remarkable school community.

Montessori in the Woods has been an incredible choice for our family. Our daughter has been attending for just over 2 years and it has been amazing to see her growth and development. We initially chose the school because we resonated so strongly with the values of the school, philosophy on learning, focus on nutrition and healthy eating, integration of practical life skills and importance of nature and time outdoors. We have been very impressed with how all these aspects have been incorporated into the school and the impact that it has made on our daughter. We, as parents, have also learned so much from the school and their founders, and it has been fascinating how we have been able to make positive improvements at home because of the school. Our daughter is now able to do many tasks around the home quite independently and is excited to showcase her skills. We especially love the school’s focus on homemade meals using whole foods and clean ingredients and have noticed our daughter is much more willing to try new foods at home.MITW brings together many like-minded families which has resulted in a strong sense of community. We are so grateful to be a part of MITW and look forward to the years ahead.

We were so fortunate to have found Montessori in the Woods for our children. The classrooms are bright and welcoming and the outside space is beautiful and quiet.  The school provides a safe and wholesome environment for the children to learn and develop at their own pace, fostering independence and a genuine love of learning. My children are excited to go to school each day and find so much joy in what they are learning.

One of the biggest draws for us to this school is the time devoted to outside play and learning. The children spend a substantial amount of time outside in the garden, getting their hands in the dirt and being free to learn and play in nature. We are so grateful for this school and the care and attention of the owners and teachers. Our children are thriving at Montessori in the Woods and we are so happy they are receiving such a wonderful holistic education during these early formative years.

The school has been nurturing and traditional in its approach to education which has given our son the foundation that is much needed.
