Availability of spots is limited, therefore choosing the right families for our program and making sure your child will thrive in our environment is our priority. The Montessori program is a 3 year program and it works the best if the child stays for the 3 years. The learning that occurs in the first year greatly ties into the second year, and in the third year everything comes together. In each year the child has a very specific role and learns very specific age sensitive activities. Each of the students greatly rely on one another, friendships are build, the community works together, that is why this program is called Casa Dei Bambini - House of children, it works just like a family. The real Montessori learning could not occur with children only staying for 1 year.
Admission preference will be given to families wanting to commit to 3 year Montessori cycle. Our program is not suitable for families who are planning to switch to JK/SK as soon as their child is eligible as the Montessori learning is very specific and totally different from the public education.
We are making every effort to give you as much information as possible so you can assess if our program matches your idea of a school. Upon meeting your family and your child we would like to determine if your child is ready to be in our environment as it requires good independence, such as using the toilet, eating by themselves and getting dressed and undressed on their own, as well as a fair command of the English language.
We believe that Montessori in the Woods is a great alternative to a daycare or JK/Sk as the children are learning real subjects and are involved in purposeful work-like activities.
In order to complete the registration procedure, the school must meet both parents as well as the child prior to starting.
